Paying tribute to one of the GOATS…

Tennis star Nike Kyrgios has revealed a beautiful new tattoo paying tribute to basketball GOAT Kobe Bryant. Showing off the new piece on instagram, the superstar player showed full respect to the legends of the game, with the piece featuring images of Bryant and LeBron James (not to mention he’s wearing some sleek af Jordans in the pic).

Captioning the post with the caption “Kobe and the King with me forever & some Jordan 1s,” it’s clear the game means a hell of a lot to Kyrgios, and what better way to show that than a mad arm tattoo?

Commenting on the origins of the piece, Kyrgios said  “When I saw the image, I realised it was that. I wanted to tattoo something from Kobe after everything that happened”

You all might remember that beautiful moment at the Australian Open when Nick wore Kobe’s jersey the day he sadly passed away in a helicopter crash with his daughter Gianna. Nick has since opened up on the thought process behind the move, saying “I wore his shirt the day he died at the Australian Open and cried during that day. I watch basketball every day and it is an important part of my life. I can never imitate what Kobe did, but there may be times in my life when I try”.

Really cool of Nick to honour his idols like that. If there’s any Aussie stars that can come anywhere close to honouring Kobe’s legacy, it’s definitely him.

Check out a vid of the tribute below.
