With Nigerian Afrobeat legend and Gorillaz collaborator Tony Allen passing away on Thursday, the virtual band has released ‘How Far’.

Fans of the great Tony Allen will have undoubtedly have heard by now that the afrobeat/jazz drummer passed away last week due to an aortic aneurysm. Much celebrated for his incredible work on the kit with Fela Kuti and solo records including his 1999 classic Black Voices, Allen had more recently been working with Damon Albarn and Gorillaz on a track recorded just before lockdown, ‘How Far’.

The tune which also features Skepta was released rushedly over the weekend as a tribute to Allen. Give it a spin and pour one out for Tony Allen. RIP.
