It’s been three years since Kendrick Lamar dropped his Grammy-winning album Damn, and we haven’t really heard much from him since. Don’t get me wrong, he’s toured a bunch and made the rounds across the globe, but on the new music front K-Dot has been relatively silent.
With Lamar set to headline Glastonbury Festival and London’s BST Hyde Park in June, many thought that this meant K-Dot was finally coming back, that new music was just around the corner. But with both events being cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s fair to say many were left wondering if they’d even hear from the man himself any time soon.
It looks like those fans are about to be made very happy, with Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE) label boss Anthony ‘Top Dawg’ Tiffith telling fans to “Stay patient” and that “King Kendrick will return soon” during an Instagram Live session.

If Top Dawg, the very man who signed Kendrick and who’s been with him since the start, said this, it’s definitely true. Looks like we’ll be getting some beautiful new tunes from the King himself real soon folks, and we can’t bloody wait…
