Having landed some big support and festival slots, impressed at Bigsound, signed a deal with European label Block 7 and released a string of catchy indie-rock singles, it’s fair to say that the past couple of years have been pretty big for Adelaide duo Wing Defence. Today they continue that hot streak with their new track ‘Relocate’, taken from their forthcoming EP Friends, due out July 3rd.
Combining gritty basslines, crunchy guitars and plenty of attitude the tune is pop-punk gold, but when that chorus hits, you bloody know it. Proving to be instantaneously catchy, if you’re anything like us you’ll find yourself singing along to it by the third time it comes around – and you’ll be stuck with it long after.
“This song is about relocating your negative energy into positive things rather than letting the loneliness of that energy consume you and make you bitter,” the band says of the track. “Wing Defence is fundamentally a band about shedding light on common struggles, on adult life and finding ways through. Looking for positivity and lifting each other up – through our music we’ve bonded, grown up and taught each other lessons.”
Stay tuned for a video for this one and head here to follow Wing Defence on socials – we have a feeling these gals are about to blow up!
