Definitely rate this list…

“Greatest of all time” lists are impossible to get right, especially in the realm of rappers. There’s just too much talent, too much variety and unique skillsets throughout the countless MCs to hold a mic since the birth of Hip Hop. However, rappers are always down to share their list, usually sparking debate and contention over who deserves a place in it. But rap legend Eminem has recently shared his own list, and tbh I don’t see many people debating this one.

He’s actually already shared his list before on 2002’s ‘Till I Collapse’, where he rapped his favourite MCs of all time, rapping “I got a list, here’s the order of my list that it’s in/It goes, Redman, Jay-Z, 2Pac, and Biggie/ André from Outkast, Jadakiss, Kurupt, Nas, and then me.”

But the self-proclaimed Rap God has since revised it, after responding to a tweet from YouTuber NoLifeShaq who asked Em as well as other rappers who they believe is the greatest of all time. Em, not being able to stick to one, rattled off a list of classic OGs and even included some newer faces on the list, tweeting “For me, in no particular order… Toss up between wayne, pac, royce, jay, redman, treach, g. rap, biggie & king crook….”

But he couldn’t stop there, going on to name “Plus redman, LL, nas, joyner, kendrick, cole, andre, rakim, kane…”

For the most part, this list is pretty dead on (maybe not Joyner but there’s no denying he’s got mad talent), and shows that Em is able to pay respect to legends from all eras. No doubt that young OGs like Kendrick, Cole and Joyner, who are all fans of Em, are a bit chuffed with their own inclusion on his list.
