Shia’s properly firing on all cylinders…

Reuniting for the first time since 2014’s war epic Fury, Shia LaBeouf and David Ayer are teaming up for The Tax Collector, and it’s every bit as intense as their preceding collaboration.

The crime drama, out August 7, was written & directed by Ayer, and focuses on two men (played by Bobby Soto and Shia LaBeouf) who work as tax collectors for a crime boss named Wizard. But things take a turn for the worst when an enemy of Wizard’s returns to town after leaving Mexico. The trailer for the film shows LaBeouf’s and Soto’s characters trying to balance the various parts of their lives with the danger of being a tax collector. It’s also got some surprisingly funny moments too, taking us through all of the emotions as we become invested in LaBeouf’s character.

Tax Collector sees LaBeouf continuing the creative renaissance he began in 2019, in which he achieved Indie hit status with Peanut Butter Fallon and penned the critically-acclaimed & autobiographical Honey Boy. No doubt Tax Collector is gonna get rave reviews as well. Check the trailer below to see LaBeouf bring the heat the way only he can.
