Move over Avengers: Infinity War, as in probably one of the most ambitious (and straight-up awesome) crossovers in human history, the writers who were responsible for The Sopranos and Goodfellas are joining forces for a new mafia series. The show, set to be produced by Showtime and Imagine Television Studios, will be created by Sopranos producer/ writer Terence Winter, Goodfellas/ Casino screenwriter Nicholas Pileggi and Empire’s Brian Grazer. It’s set to follow Pileggi’s chronicle of organised crime in America, as seen through the eyes of the mafia’s First Family, which sounds solid af.

Pileggi has some mad creds to his name, who wrote the screenplays that were adapted into the iconic Scorsese flicks Goodfellas and Casino, co-writing the scripts with Scorsese himself. He also executive produced Scorsese’s latest smash The Irishman.

Terence Winter is also in no short supply of accolades, creating and executive producing The Sopranos, Boardwalk Empire, and bringing to life the HBO rock ‘n’ roll drama Vinyl. He also copped an Oscar nom for his screenplay for Wolf of Wall Street (one of the best screenplays of the 2010s dont @ me).

Lastly, Brian Grazer is definitely making waves in his own right, working as an executive producer for the second season of Wu-Tang: An American Saga as well as an Empire spinoff and a docu-series on infamous rapper Tekashi 6ix9nine.

It’s clear that the trio are a dynamite combo, and have a list of creds and accolades that rival even the biggest of Hollywood titans. No doubt this new series is gonna be nothing short of amazing. We’ll let you know the second we know more info regarding when it’ll be airing.
