Some beautiful colours…

It had been nearly a decade since Mike Skinner’s The Streets took a hiatus and seemingly disappeared from the face of the earth, but their latest LP None of Us Are Getting Out of This Life Alive more than proves that they’re back in full force, and certainly aren’t going anyway. The album was defined by Skinner’s inescapable search for human connection, and he’s continuing that search in the latest video for the title track, which is out today.

The vid sees Skinner link up with IDLES frontman Joe Talbot as they traverse countless landscapes, with no specific destination in mind. The colours for the vid itself are pretty cool, with Skinner making use of various set pieces to craft some super warm blues/ purples interspersed with some harsh white backdrops. It totally captures the vibrant but soul-destroying lyrics such as “I don’t like my country, it’s more of an addiction/ The way girls fixate and pore over lip gloss/ I’m hard to love, I make idiot jokes/ But those the hardest to love are those that need it the most.” IDLES frontman Joe Talbot also pulls up for the vid, spending most of it driving what appears to be a golf cart as he busts out his own version of that addictive hook.

The vid is super dope, perfect for Streets fans who want to be in their feelings today but want to see some cool af visuals while doing it. Check it below.
