Friday means fresh tunes.

Forget about live, laugh, loving. It’s Friday which means it’s time to drink, party and dance (optional), so you know what you’re gonna need? You’re gonna need new music to soundtrack those shenanigans, which is exactly what we’ve teamed up with Jim Beam to provide for you today. Check out five tracks below that dropped within the last 24hrs that we reckon you’ll dig:

LEISURE – ‘Spark It Up’

Kiwi outfit LEISURE hit us right in the feels with this soulful indie banger taken from their forthcoming EP SIDE A. Combing lofty falsettos, softly strummed guitars and a down-tempo groove, the track has those big chillwave vibes which matches perfectly to the accompanying visuals that were shot in France when the band were on a writing trip…

Johnny Hunter – Innocence Interrupted

With their debut EP dropping today, Inner-West post-punks Johnny Hunter will have undoubtedly quenched the thirst of their swelling fanbase. One of the previously unheard tracks from Early Trauma is the nostalgia-tinged ode to yesterday ‘Innocence Interrupted’ which is worth a listen for the lofty as fuck bridge, if nothing else. Check it:

Teischa – ‘be alone’

Following on from her Momentary record which dropped earlier this year (feeling lazy yet?), WA artist Teischa has bounced back with this gem of a track. Built around a disjointed piano line, the groove of the tune reveals itself more and more with each listen, with her talent for writing melodic earworms on full display. Probably the most artfully crafted pop/R&B track you’ll hear this month, or maybe even this year. Big things coming…

cookii – ‘love yourself (spend forever)

A bubblegum pop track about spending your money. cookii has got you covered with yet another anthemic banger. With her previous single ‘coca-cola’ already amassing 35K streams in the past few months, we have a feeling that she is destined for big things and ‘love yourself (spend forever)’ is further evidence of that.

Matt Corby – If I Never Say A Word

Picture this, it’s Sunday morning, you’re feeling stale AF but have just got a call from a pal saying, “let’s meet for some drinks in the park.” I imagine this song has just the right amount of upliftingness (if that’s a thing) to get you motivated to get your shit together and get out the door. Go get it.
