Composing for a Christopher Nolan film is no mean feat…

Adding to the ever-increasing hype for the imminent TENET, Travis Scott has confirmed he has written a song for it, and of course we’re expecting nothing shot of pure fire. Speaking in a recent GQ interview with Gerrick D. Kennedy, the Houston rapper opened up on all of his latest projects, talking everything from his TENET track to even his future plans with Kid Cudi.

On the topic of TENET, which Scott has already seen and reckons is “fire” (the only review I care about) the man himself Christopher Nolan lended his thoughts on the track La Flame composed for it, stating “His voice became the final piece of a yearlong puzzle. His insights into the musical and narrative mechanism Ludwig Göransson and I were building were immediate, insightful, and profound”. That’s pretty big to have Christopher Nolan praise you like that, and tbh just going off the surrealist, time bending nature of the film along with the type of music Travis has been releasing lately, this is definitely a match made in heaven.

Travis also opened up on the new music he’s been working on recently, talking his plans for a follow up to 2018’s Astroworld, saying “I think with this next project I’m just embodying all of the knowledge I’ve taken in and trying to make the best form of it.” It definitely sounds like he’s got a solo album cooking, but whether or not we’ll be treated to it before the year is done remains to be seen.

The interview also saw Travis promise that “some fireness” was on the way with Cudi, confirming a joint-album with the man himself for which they’ve already composed several songs. Looks like 2020/2021 is gonna be a super busy time for the hip hop megastar, but at the very least he’ll get to bless us with some TENET fire super soon. Check the trailer for the time-bender below.
