Creative genius…

Continuing to push herself as a director and visual creative, Teyana Taylor has come through with a dope new music video for her new tune ‘1800-One-Night’. The video sees Taylor take on the alias of Spike Tey, a play on the name of BlacKkKlansman director Spike Lee, as she draws inspiration from his 1996 comedy Girl 6. The video tells the story of a group of phone sex operators and the contrast of the repetitive, office-nature of their jobs with the service they provide their clients.

The video gives each character their own little moment while they’re on the job, before the spotlight settles on Taylor at around the 2:20 mark. The vid then sees her take to a solo phone booth while singing her heart out, with some gorgeous lighting and choreography sprinkled in for good measure.

The end of the video sees Taylor and her co-workers switch scenes as they film a late-night television commercial, before Teyana walks away from the shoot hilariously declaring “I’m too pregnant for this sh*t!’

It’s a super cool video, and it’s really cool to see Teyana to continue to push herself as a director. No doubt she’ll continue to come through with killer vids like ‘1800-One-Night’ throughout her creative journey. Check the full video below.
