Gonna be a favourite…

Resident Evil is definitely getting some love by Netflix, the streaming service announcing a new animated series for the title named Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness. The series is one of two Resident Evil-focused projects Netflix has in the word, the other being a live-action show which will focus on Jade and Billie Wesker.

The trailer sees the utilisation of animation and CG, striking a perfect balance between the surrealism of the game and realism of TV. Describing the new series “an original CG anime series with a horror-action vibe”, it seems Capcom knows exactly what it’s doing with one of its greatest titles.

That does pretty good justice to the trailer tbh, the one minute teaser instantly capturing that eery, terrifying mood so inherent to the Resident Evil franchise. We see series favourites Leon and Claire inside an empty (or so we thought) house, as a zombie comes out of nowhere and goes absolutely bat-shit crazy on Claire. The scene then flips as a zombie is shot down, the look of fear and worry evident on Leon’s face.

It ends rather quickly, but it definitely has us intrigued about the new series. Check it out below.
