How do you sum up the kind of year Northern Beaches brother Oli and Louis Leimbach AKA Lime Cordiale have had? Take a breath, let’s go: they had an unprecedented four songs in the top 40 of triple j’s Hottest 100, sold out a tonne of shows as part of their Speakeasy Tour, got their first ARIA #1 with 14 Steps To A Better You, and just received a whopping eight ARIA nominations. Ok. Told you it was pretty hefty.
Now the duo can add collaborating with one of the most iconic names in fashion to their CV, with their epic Wrangler capsule dropping just last week. Featuring plenty of Louis’ own designs, which LC fans will be all too familiar with, the capsule is chocked with summery casual wear that captures the laidback vibes of their music nicely. It’s the kinda comfy costume that is made for festivals (not that there are any happening ATM) and long days under the sun accompanied by a frosty amber ale.

“We’ve always looked to Wrangler for inspiration with our merch. Not only do they have great materials and designs but they’re environmentally and ethically conscious. We teamed Louis up with the designers at Wrangler and were able to utilize their skills topush things further. This collaboration has let us deliver high-quality products that we want to wear ourselves. All of these designs feature Louis’ artworks,” they say of the collab.
The range is available for purchase now via Wrangler, Lime Cordiale and Universal Store online – check it, along with our interview with Oli below:
A mate of ours told me that it’s always been a fantasy of his to smash a bunch of watermelons over one. So if we win one, I’ll probably give him a call and we can have a session. This sort of thing never feels real. Of course we have people congratulating us and we’ve seen articles about it, but it hasn’t really sunk in properly.
We were backstage at one of our intimate Brisbane shows, one of the biggest shows we’ve done since Covidillydoo. Chuggi is normally the one that delivers that sort of news to us. For those that don’t know Chuggi, he’s been in the music industry for 50 years and has a pretty “loud” way of speaking, if you get my drift. For both pieces of news, the ARIA noms and the number one, he would’ve probably said something along the lines of “Oli and Louis, you long haired cunts! I’m so fucking proud of you pricks! Well done, I love ya. Now get back to your songwriting cos if you think you can relax now, ya fucking dreaming!”
If venues opened up and we could suddenly cram an unrestricted tour in the last couple of months of 2020, we’d be very happy. Other than that, we’re happy to have summer off for once. We’re always missing our friend’s Christmas and New Year parties.
We haven’t played Scandinavia yet. They’re an interesting lot.
It was definitely pretty awkward to start off with. You finish a song, people clap and then there’s silence. We got used to hiding behind the noise of a big crowd but it was a good exercise and put us on our toes. We have a great live team. The band and our crew are so fun to be around that we just had to do something in order to hang out.
Surfing mainly. We’re super healthy when we’re off tour. We eat a mainly vegan diet and heaps of veggies from the garden. It’s only when we’re on tour that the burgers and too many beers come out.
We’ve always looked to Wrangler for inspiration. Their fabric and designs are great and they’re committed to staying ethical and environmentally friendly. They’ve been a great team to collaborate with.
Lou Wrang?
The party shirt. It’s our first party shirt and completely covered in Louis’ design. The fabric is so soft you just wanna put it all in your mouth.
