Ready to float away today?

Following on from her lauded Tiny Desk performance in March and a string of haunting singles, globetrotting Aussie singer-songwriter Indigo Sparke has just given us the first taste of her forthcoming debut full length, Echo. ‘Baby’ reaffirms the notion that Sparke is one of the most promising voices in the Australian musical ecosystem – a comment we do not make lightly.

The sparse track incorporates floating synths that drift in and out of the mix, along with a softly plucked guitar, which allows Sparke’s ever-impressive vocals to take centre stage. Here, she takes us on an ethereal journey, masterfully shifting in dynamics throughout, with the lyrics acting as something of a love letter. It’s a haunting, engrossing and ultimately very intimate performance.
