Sì grazie… yes please.

Born and bred in Sydney, self-proclaimed optimist Lisa Caruso began the making of her debut album in 2017, cooking up sweet tunes in her bedroom and eventually recording in stuios in the UK and Australia. Known for her uniquely nostalgic 90s indie sound and 60s pop aesthetic, she began recording songs that are thrashing, cool, emotive and transparent.

In November 2018 her single ‘Shake Baby Shake’ was released, based around her battle with a severe Crohn’s disease relapse. Refusing to be restricted by her illness, Lisa believed it was important to explain the “pause and instinctually follow the path that the album would reveal.” In Feelings is positioned around her ability to tell it how it is, as well as the reality of life and whatever it has to offer from its bright shades ranging to it’s dark shadows. The album is a soundtrack of optimism, giving us reassurance to feel whatever we need to feel, as well as that extra push to keep going.

With her album out now we’re stoked to be sharing her Italian lyric video for ‘To Call You Mine’. The clip, which was shot moments before the rain set in at Bombo Quarry, sees Lisa shredding her guitar near the ocean’s edge giving the tune a raw and authentic touch with a monochrome background and cherry red Italian subtitles.

Since her album release and launch party at The Vanguard in Sydney, Lisa has had a busy 2020 supporting Sarah Blasko’s solo tour in NSW, as well as playing several Boy and Bear shows in Sydney and Brisbane. There’s no doubt that 2021 has plenty planned for Lisa Caruso, keep updated with her Instagram to see what treats she has in store for us.
