Feels like a lifetime ago…

It might be hard to imagine now, but there was a time when Justin Bieber was a horrendous piece of shit. From pissing in buckets to egging houses to just being an overall douche bag, it’s safe to say he was less than a model citizen.

But, unlike most kids that grow up in the spotlight, he somehow made it out of that hole, focusing on himself and tuning out from all the fakeness of Hollywood. Now, he’s a devoted husband, a man of faith, and most importantly, someone who doesn’t fucking drive under the influence.

Yep, old mate was quite prone to getting behind the wheel when inebriated back in the day, and he’s taken the time to reflect on one of those instances. Specifically, the seven year anniversary of his DUI arrest in 2014.

Writing online, the ‘Changes’ singer said “7 years ago today I was arrested, not my finest hour. Not proud of where I was at in my life. I was hurting, unhappy, confused, angry, mislead, misunderstood and angry at god.. I also wore too much leather for someone in Miami. All this to say God has brought me a long way. From then til now I do realize something.. God was as close to me then as he is right now.

“My encouragement to you is to ‘let your past be a reminder of how far god has brought you.Don’t allow shame to ruin your “today” let the forgiveness of Jesus take over and watch your life blossom into all that God has designed you to be. LOVE YOU GUYS WITH MY WHOLE HEART.”

Regardless of how you feel about him, you gotta admit he’s taking pains to be a better person. His most recent tracks ‘Lonely’ and ‘Holy’ alone are a proper example of his desire to help others avoid the pitfalls of being a child star, as well as affirm his love to his wife Hailey Baldwin.
