Gotta keep those trademarks…

Hip hop legend André 3000 is definitely a man of many talents. Whether it be rapping, producing, you name it, the Outkast rapper can truly do it all. Now, he’s added another accolade to that growing list of accomplishments, the dynamic artist launching a new capsule collection centred around an ant he drew way back.

Taking to Instagram in a super rare appearance, 3 Stacks posted the design along wth an explanation as to why he was putting it out now, stating “This is a sketch I did a while ago and I am told I have to use it now in the market place or it stops being mine. So I’ve made a few things with it. All the shirts are ethically-produced/made from recycled materials. Hope you enjoy. – 3.”

He also shared a note on his website further explaining the trademark motivation, stating online“According to the trademark people, in order to retain control of your trademarks, you have to actively use them.

“The trademark office also has deadlines and lots of rules to defend your IP (intellectual property). So here are a few things that I hope you and the good people at the trademark office will enjoy.”

From T-shirts to hoodies to posters (all featuring his ant sketch), the capsule really does show off the ‘Millionaire’ rapper’s art prowess, and no doubt he’s got a future in fashion real soon. The t-shirts cost $45 USD each ($56 AUD), while the hoodie will cost you $150 ($180 AUD). And the poster is a definite at $25 ($31 AUD).
