Protect Budjerah at all costs…

Keeping the hype going for his long-awaited debut EP out tomorrow, 19-year-old shooting star of soul Budjerah has today unveiled some super glittery visuals for his latest tune ‘Higher,’ all while announcing his first national tour.

The video (directed by Mick Soiza) sees Budjerah take over a roller derby rink with his band, all of whom are clad in the dopest of threads and accessories. The accompanying shots and overall filming of the video is just totally lush as well, making use of some killer lens flares and silhouettes (along with enough rotating shots to last a lifetime) to craft a super glitzy meteor shower of fun-loving ecstasy as the band jam out (and dance) to the tune.

It seems to line up with the 19-year-old’s vision pretty dead-on, with Budjerah saying “I wanted to make the music video for Higher super fun to match the energy of the song. When I hear the song I see people partying in a disco and roller skating,” while adding “Higher is an ode to fun, it’s a celebration of happiness when life is stress and worry free.”

The track and video captures all of the above in spades, and no doubt crowds will be treated to all those emotions and more when he heads out on tour this May through June, hitting up iconic venues across the nation like The Lansdowne, Northcote Social Club, The Triffid and Miami Marketta.

Sounds like it’s a bloody big time for the young star, and you just know it’s about to get a whole bigger. Suss full ticket deets below and be sure to check out his EP when it drops tomorrow.
