While Childish Gambino has mysteriously disappeared from all of his social media accounts (leaving his 1.66 million Twitter followers very confused), he’s set to executive produce and star in a new television pilot for ‘Atlanta’.
The comedy revolves around two budding cousins who are pursuing rap careers in the Southern city, with Glover playing one of the protagonists named Earnest ‘Earn’ Marks. The show is also written by Paul Slimms, who has worked in acclaimed series like ‘Girls’ and ‘Flight of the Concords’. Meanwhile, Glover has appeared on shows like ’30 Rock’ and ‘Community’.
American television network FX has only ordered a pilot for the show so far, but Given the star power behind the show and hip-hop’s current infatuation with the Southern scenes, we won’t be surprised if this is a hit.
