Trying not to be a hater but damn I’m jealous…

It seems TikTok really took hold in 2021, teens and adults turning to the social media app in lockdown in the hope of passing the time. It’s blown up since, becoming a rival for Instagram for building ones online presence and even a career off of; and British 17-year-old Alicia Breuer is the perfect example of how damn far it can take you.

Now, 12 months on after downloading the app in lockdown, Breuer is making a crazy £10,000 ($18,000 AUD) per day, and it all started from a bunch of lip-syncing videos, with her first being a lip sync vid to Katy Perry’s 2010 hit Teenage Dream. She also makes fashion and beauty clips to show off her clothes and makeup prowess; which helped her quickly cop  millions of views.

Now, she’s ditched uni, signed to a digital talent manager and has copped a bunch of deals with brands like Lancome, Urban Outfitters, Boohoo and Fenty Beauty (major flex) and has no plans to go to uni now, which is honestly fair enough.

“It gave me something to do during the pandemic when I wasn’t studying for my A-levels. If I’m now able to make £10,000 ($18,000) some days, I’m going to focus on my videos – there’s no point going to university.”

Again, totally fair enough, especially since she’s making more than her parents (both being financial advisers, so no doubt they’re not doing too bad either). For now, check out some of her TikToks below to get caught up on how people are making bank in 2021.
