Will plunge you into another world…

Strap yourself in and hold onto all you consider dear, as you’re about to venture into the depths of ethereality. A place where passion reigns supreme and feeling runs rampant. A place rife with rewilding, otherwise known as the visuals for Sydney/Eora singer-songwriter Micah Jey’s new music video of the same name, which we’re premiering today.

Born from a collaboration with director and projection artist Nema Adel with editing from Seakyu, the tantalising visuals see Micah embrace the primal forms of nature and life utterly and fully, glowing webs of fluorescence and vibrant palettes exploding off the screen.

The video also plays host to Sydney talents Tara Chandra and Meena Scott-Maxwell, Micah Jey moving between them in a rich tunnel sequence as they represent the light and dark within her, the unhinged and the measured. Colour-wise the video embodies the archaic nature of the tune, exhilarating reds, greens and yellows juxtaposed with the moody shadows and depths; all of which compounding in an explosion of enchantment.

She matches the striking nature of the tunnel with the wonder of the natural world, revolving transitions of her in an open field injected with visual effects that paint the landscape with a rich vibrance, further affirming the effects of rewilding in the realm of natural flora, and how it comes to transformative fruition.

Opening up on the new clip, Micah explains “Through the process of creating ‘Rewilding’ I was able to reflect on ways that I strayed from the path in search of an alternative way to view the world.

“I realised that by disconnecting to nature and one’s higher purpose an internal wound emerges and begins to fester over time. Breaking the bonds and layers of the built-up pressure of trying to belong in society and returning home to truly love your wild self is the remedy.”
