Sydney/Eora based singer-songwriter Moody Beach (AKA Melissah Mirage) is ending one of the longest weeks of our lives with some kick-ass fire, dropping her new single ‘Plastic Love’ from her forthcoming EP Assembly of the Wild.

Naturally, the track is buzzing with raw edge, capturing the fire inherent to Moody Beach shows with as we’re taken right right to the front of the mosh pit in the accompanying music video (directed by Throat Pasta).

Punchy visual effects reign supreme throughout the chaotic three minutes, Moody Beach and her band immersed in all kinds of distortion and colour as the inner-west starlet performs her last pre-lockdown gig Marrickville.

Speaking on the new release, Moody Beach explains “When writing ‘Plastic Love’ I was thinking about all the different kinds of romantic love I’ve experienced. I’m serially monogamous and have felt trapped in convenient relationships before.

“On the flipside, for a short time, I pursued open relationships and revelled in feeling detached from lovers. Both felt insincere and artificial to me, like plastic”.

Definitely a way to escape the mundane nature of life in August, if it’s even just for a couple of minutes.
