The Strokes Have Announced A String Of Sideshows In Sydney And Melbourne
Ft. The Chats and The Lazy Eyes!
As if their place on the lineup for Splendour in the Grass next year wasn’t enough, the Strokes have also announced a string of sideshows for Sydney and Melbourne. Scheduled for July 2022, The New York band will take a break from their headlining slot at the North Byron Parklands festival to perform in venues from Hordern Pavilion to John Cain Arena.
Fans can expect a welcome dose of rock royalty, with both sets promising the full catalogue of The Strokes’ six-album career, including tracks from their most recent 2020 offering, The New Abnormal. Ensuring that their first Aussie headline dates of the decade are well-rehearsed, the Sydney and Melbourne shows will follow The Strokes’ international tour from Mexico to England, but it won’t simply be a solo event.
Fellow rockers and Sunshine Coast locals The Chats are slated as supporting acts, with Sydney quartet The Lazy Eyes also sharing the sideshow spotlight.
