She then remarked that she “waits for people to be OK until [she] keeps going,” which many people interpreted as a reference to Travis Scott’s Astroworld performance where 10 people died during the rapper’s set. It’s this comment which has offended Kanye West, taking to Instagram to voice his disappointment and deliver an ultimatum to Eilish:
“COME ON BILLIE WE LOVE YOU PLEASE APOLOGIZE TO TRAV AND TO THE FAMILIES OF THE PEOPLE WHO LOST THEIR LIVES NO ONE INTENDED THIS TO HAPPEN TRAV DIDN’T HAVE ANY IDEA OF WHAT WAS HAPPENING WHEN HE WAS ON STAGE AND WAS VERY HURT BY WHAT HAPPENED AND YES TRAV WILL BE WITH ME AT COACHELLA BUT NOW I NEED BILLIE TO APOLOGIZE BEFORE I PERFORM”
Both Ye and Eilish are supposed to be headlining a night at Coachella in April, and so far Eilish is yet to reply to Kanye’s request.
