Christian Bale, Margot Robbie, John David Washington and plenty more all star in the new epic…

Veteran director David O’Russell has long been known to recruit top tier casts for his eclectic and oftentimes chaotic films. American Hustle, Silver Linings Playbook, Joy, the list goes on. Amsterdam, his upcoming film, might just come out on top against all of the above however, boasting a seemingly endless ensemble cast in the trailer released just this morning.

Opening on legendary comedian Chris Rock, the period drama/comedy’s plot revolves around three close friends played by Christian Bale, Margot Robbie and John David Washington who have been accused of murder (with Rock finding the body). To get themselves out of the jam, they tap none other than the Raging Bull himself, Robert De Niro, to help them find the real killer.

Now, if this was just a regular David O’Russell film, the extent of A-listers would stop there, but instead, it keeps going, with the likes of Anya Taylor-Joy, Rami Malek, Michael Shannon, Mike Myers, Taylor Swift, Zoe Saldaña and more all starring in the film. Considering that it’s inspired by real events as indicated by the signature O’Russell tagline “A lot of this actually happened,” we’re guessing old mate is pulling out all the stops for the period epic. Amsterdam will arrive in theatres on November 4th. Check out the full trailer below.
