The game is slated for release in 2023…

Just when you thought Stranger Things couldn’t get any more intense, Netflix has released the teaser to an upcoming virtual reality game based on the popular series. And in an unexpected twist, the game lets you play not as one of the show’s protagonists such as Ellen or Billy, but rather, season four antagonist, Vecna.

The teaser shows the horror-inspired nature of the game as you wreak havoc on our favourite characters. However, it seems that the locations of the game will go a step beyond that of the show, with an official description reading, “Become an explorer of unknown realities as you form the hive mind and tame the void.”

Needless to say, you’ll be able to live out all your villainous fantasies to the fullest, as players will be challenged to “invade minds and conjure nightmares in [their] quest to enact revenge on Eleven and Hawkins.” Add the fact that you’ll get to inherit Vecna’s alien powers and enact all kinds of chaos, and it looks like the game is set to be a total home run.
