The Yellowstone prequel marks the first time Ford has led a TV show in his multi-decade career…

Beloved TV show Yellowstone is the gift that keeps giving, with the upcoming prequel for the Western, 1923, getting a new trailer this arvo. Starring Hollywood legends Harrison Ford and Hellen Mirren as Cara and Jacob Dutton, the show follows the early 20th century couple “when pandemics, historic drought, the end of Prohibition, and the Great Depression all plague the mountain west”.

The one-minute trailer for the epic shows them both in hot water as they battle against outlaws, gangsters and the elements. It seems that Montana is even more chaotic in 1923 than it was in Kevin Costner’s Yellowstone, but unsurprisingly, Ford and Mirren appear to be more than capable of handling themselves in the trailer.

Aside from being the first Yellowstone prequel, the new series marks the first time Ford has led a TV show, with the Bladerunner actor’s filmography predominantly consisting of big screen projects. Mirren, on the other hand, has starred in a range of TV shows over the years, most notably appearing in Prime Suspect from 1991 to 2006. No doubt her TV chops will come in handy for 1923. The first episode of the new series will debut on December 18th via Paramount Plus, with the rest of the season rolling out over January. Check out the trailer below.
