Kanye West is once again back in the news, and in what feels like the first time in years, it actually for a somewhat good reason. Recently landing in hot water for his bigotry and anti-semitic comments, the Yeezus rapper has been universally condemned for his taking aim at the Jewish community. However, against all odds, it seems as if he’s had a change of heart, and the reason for it is none other than Jonah Hill’s performance in, wait for it, 21 Jump Street.
Taking to Instagram, Kanye wrote what is perhaps the most Kanye thing online, posting a picture of the 2012 film’s poster with the caption, “Watching Jonah Hill in 21 Jump Street made me like Jewish people again. No one should take anger against one or two individuals and transform that into hatred towards millions of innocent people. No Christian can be labeled antisemite knowing Jesus is Jew. Thank you Jonah Hill I love you.”
As you’d expect, the comment section of the post has since been going off, with one unsung hero writing, “this is gonna be in a history textbook in like 100 years” and another adding, “we live in a South Park episode” (the banter is absolutely top tier). It’s important to note that 21 Jump Street was released over ten years ago and is about two cops going undercover at a high school to bust a drug ring. Why at all this convinced West to see the error of his ways… I don’t think we’ll ever know.

It comes following a very public fall from grace for the chart-topping rapper, with his social media accounts being suspended multiple times, brand deals with Balenciaga and Adidas being pulled and even his honorary degree being rescinded. Regardless, while we’re glad that Kanye West has finally seen the light (or so he says), we’re still skeptical of the controversial figure. But who knows, maybe a marathon of Adam Sandler movies will cure him of his other prejudices.
Hill is yet to respond to the post, and if he at all has any brains, we’re guessing he won’t be going near this story with a ten foot pole. Check out West’s IG post below, along with the trailer for 21 Jump Street above (gotta admit, Hill is a revelation in it).
