DICE, Pania, Phoebe Go and Milku lead the first local lineup reveal for the inaugural SXSW Sydney…

South by Southwest (SXSW) Sydney has announced its first lineup of local acts to join a handful of international artists who are already set to perform at the festival. The inaugural SXSW Sydney 2023 Music Festival will go down in October, making Sydney the very first city across the globe to host SXSW outside of its home base of Austin, Texas.

The festival will take place at dozens of live music venues in the SXSW Sydney event precinct (including venues like the Lansdowne and the Abercrombie), where official showcasing artists will perform in front of industry reps, media and thousands of fans and fellow musicians from across the globe.

Among the newly announced local performers are the likes of alt-rock outfit DICE, Melbourne r&b singer Pania, ex-Snakadaktal vocalist Phoebe Go and rising indie-pop artist Milku, along with 1TBSP, Dust, Alter Boy, Andrew Guruwaiwi Band and heaps more.

Meanwhile, there were a few new acts announced on the international front, including the likes Wallice from the US, Chameleon Lime Whoopiepie from Japan and Soaked Oats and hanbee from New Zealand.

SXSW Sydney also unveiled its latest Featured Speaker, Chris Lee, the Chief A&R Officer and former CEO of SM Entertainment, who has been associated with popularising many K-pop stars and was recently named as one of Billboard’s International Power Players for the second consecutive year.
