Enigmatic producer Golden Features returned to the Hordern Pavilion with thunderous energy last night, the last stop of his highly anticipated Sisyphus tour managing to surpass all the ungodly expectations placed upon it. Backed by UK producer Silk and homegrown talent Gurpaal, by the time the ‘Medicate’ producer sauntered into view the crowd was fully primed and rearing to go.
Much like his previous live shows, the moodiness (and haze) was firing on all cylinders as the murky sonics of tunes like ‘Flesh’, ‘Touch’, ‘Vigil’ and more all collided in the stratosphere, with the audience responding in kind. A particularly special moment came when Features dropped his edit of fellow Sydney-born dance outfit, Rüfus Du Sol’s, classic track ‘Innerbloom’, which brought a nice moment of levity throughout the madness.
