In another instance of a British heartthrob taking the world by storm (and making my 25-year-old self feel wildly under-accomplished), Declan McKenna has announced that he is finally making the trip to Australia for a bunch of shows. The dates will see the ‘Brazil’ songsmith take to esteemed venues in Sydney and Melbourne at the start of the new year, along with sets at Heaps Good Festival in Brissy and Adelaide.
The announcement comes as McKenna continues to drip-feed us teasers from his upcoming album, What Happened to the Beach?, which is slated to land on February 9th. Recent singles ‘Sympathy’ and ‘Nothing Works’ have gone down a treat at his recent shows in the UK, with McKenna’s dreamy and spirited vintage of pop seeming to be resonating with masses across the globe.
No doubt these Aussie shows are set to be a little extra special, however, with them being his debut headline gigs in the country. Presale tickets are available from 9am this Thursday with general sale from 9am this Friday. For now, check out Declan McKenna’s full list of Aussie dates for 2024 below.
