Quite the day or WA purveyors of kaleidoscopic indie rock Great Gable, with the quartet hitting us with a trio of juicy deets. Firstly, brand new music. Secondly and album coming. And thirdly, they’re hitting the road in Australia in 2025 (which is nowhere near as far away as it seems).
‘Fine Wine’ wine is pure energy from the get-go with the band picking up where previous singles ‘Best Friend’ and ‘Think Again, Motherf*cker’ left off. “‘Fine Wine’ is about perspective and optimism, and reflecting on different points in your life. It’s about taking a step back and appreciating change – of the people that are there, or aren’t anymore, and the effect that has on you. It’s meant to feel exciting and loose, like it could take off at any point, but still have some sort of storytelling style about it.” Guitarist Matt Preen says of the song.
The track will feature on Small Fry (pre-order here) which was recorded at Blackbird Studios in Perth with Dave Parkin. Following their 2023 EP, Read The Room, frontman Alex wrote most of Small Fry at home, with the band and Dave preserving the original vibes of his demos.
