Hold onto your hats for a trio of sizzling news drops from Canberra’s Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers. The group who haven’t looked back since their debut LP I Love You Too hit #6 on the ARIA charts and simultaneously fuelled Australia’s (and the world’s) love affair with their heartstrung indie rock, are today hitting us with an overload of good news.
Firstly, they’ve linked up with Canada’s Softcult for a tasty new single ‘Dull’ which will undoubtedly hit you right in the feels and lift your out of any mid-week slump that you’ll be feeling. Dreamy and nostalgic, the tune has pre-chorus – I’m talking about the “late night…” part – that will be swimming in your head for days.
“Dull has similar themes to I Used To Be Fun. We had been talking about how it feels to not have that motivation like we used to, to go out and party, and that it’s often harder to sit with yourself and be alone with your thoughts rather than just distracting yourself with thing after thing!” Anna Ryan of the band says. “The lyrics “find it hard to take it slow, burning out and now it’s shows” really resonates with me and I think it’s like coming to terms with the fact that distracting yourself constantly is unsustainable. It’s good to learn to just sit with stuff and take it frikken easy!!”

In top of the rad new single, they’ve signed Mom + Pop records for a global deal (outside of Aus where their fruitful Domestic La La partnership remains strong), and announced a deluxe edish of I Love You Too which will feature three brand new songs, ‘Please Me’, ‘we thought it would be a good time but it was a bad time’ and ‘Dull’.
