Indonesian trio Voice of Baceprot (VOB) is redefining metal. Formed in 2014 by three school friends in Garut, West Java, the all-female band blends heavy riffs with sharp social commentary—challenging expectations while wearing their hijabs. Since their 2018 debut School Revolution, VOB has gone global, dropping their album Retas in 2023 and becoming the first Indonesian act to play Glastonbury in 2024.

So what does that have to do with Vans? Well, it’s a testament to Vans’ unwavering commitment to culture that they’ve linked up with the band as ambassadors for the Premium Old Skool, highlighting the legendary shoe company’s preference of working with influential people rather than “influencers”.
