When Sony’s XM5 changed the game a couple of years back, there was one major piece of feedback coming from certain corners of the internet – the headphones didn’t fold, meaning they took up (ever so slightly) more space when travelling. It seems Sony heard us, with the XM6 not only being more compact, but also stacked with first-in-class features.
There’s improved noise cancellation, a wider soundstage tuned with the help of mastering engineers, and support for Auracast and L3C. Comfort gets a boost too, thanks to a thicker headband and subtly redesigned earcups.
Add in Bluetooth 5.3, an expanded 10-band EQ via the Sony app, and the ability to keep listening while charging, and you’ve got a pair of headphones that set a new standard for over-ear listening.
The headphones come in three colourways: Platinum, Black, and Midnight Blue. They’ve got that sleek, futuristic feel—making them a pretty clean addition to the wardrobe (hey, if they don’t look good, it doesn’t matter how premium the sound is!). You can pre-order them right here, right now via Sony’s website.
