The AVE Classic is back with Hockey refining the legendary shoe.

There can be no doubt that Anthony Van Engelen and Vans’ AVE Classic was one of the finest skate shoes of its era. Built around AVE’s fearless and uncompromising approach to skating, I can honestly say it inspired me, even if my skill level was about a galaxy away from his. At least for a few moments, I felt and looked good, ya know?

Now we get to chase that feeling all over again, with Vans bringing the iconic silhouette back to life. Teaming up with Hockey, they’ve rebuilt the AVE Classic with all the trimmings of a modern high-performance skate shoe, while keeping the raw attitude that made the original so special. God damn, these things look fucking tidy.

The updated AVE Classic by Hockey comes loaded with Vans’ best skate tech, including DURACAP underlays for extra durability in high-wear areas, POPCUSH insoles for impact protection without sacrificing boardfeel, and SickStick rubber paired with the iconic waffle outsole for maximum grip.

Visually, Hockey keeps things clean but unmistakably theirs. A premium full-leather upper, custom co-branded footbeds and Hockey artwork give the shoe a refined edge without losing any of its bite.
