“On Saturday February 14, 2015 Kanye West stunned a few lucky fans by hand delivering each a pair of YEEZY BOOST at the adidas flagship store in NYC. Bigger than shoe boxes, Kanye brought a message of inspiration for his fans to dream, to create freely, and to know that ‘awesome is possible’.”
And if this is an example of awesome then we’d hate to know what an example of shit is, because these kicks are the footwear equivalent of fanny packs or Crocs. And proof that if you are famous enough, you can roll a turd in glitter and package it as “fashionable” and people gullible enough will buy it – both figuratively and literally.
And believe you me, that’s hard for us to say. We love Kanye, his tunes and the fact that he visited the fans at the store is the height of cool. We dig Adidas too – we have a shrine to the Superstar. But for all the hype, the Yeezy Boost doesn’t make a dent in the charts.
