Party & Bullshit

After last night’s banging opener, we once again hit Manly for Surf & Sound Festival, this time with The Beautiful Girls and DJ St Croix soundtracking another massive night.

We’ve gotta say, Surf & Sound Festival is living up to the hype, and it’s only night two. This time we headed back to Manly for another evening of live music, packed venues and plenty of familiar faces, with The Beautiful Girls taking centre stage.

It’s hard to think of a band better suited to a festival like this than The Beautiful Girls. With their unmistakable mix of roots, reggae and laid-back coastal sounds, Mat McHugh and co delivered exactly the kind of set you’d want to hear with a few drinks in hand on a Friday night in Manly. Safe to say, the crowd was well and truly on board.

Things didn’t exactly wind down after that, either, with DJ St Croix keeping the tunes rolling and giving everyone another excuse to stay out a little longer than planned. Two nights in and we’re already starting to wonder how we’re going to keep this pace up.

And there’s still plenty more to come, with Skegss, Babe Rainbow, Teenage Joans, Kita Alexander, Skunkhour and a stack of other acts on the bill over the coming weekends (more info here).

Check out all the action from night two in the gallery above, and keep an eye on LWA for plenty more from Surf & Sound Festival.
