Often speculations surround Kanye’s unfiltered external monologue, of which we are all well aware. In his interviews, his songs, and especially towards paparazzi, Kanye has definitely shown that he is a very easily agitated dude.

What you may not know though is from where this temper of his originates. Kanye’s parents divorced when he was only 3, after which he moved to Chicago with his mother. Such a strong bond was formed between the pair, that to this day he will often refer to her as his best-friend.

After his withdrawal from Chicago State University, Donda (a highly educated english professor herself) paid him little heed due to his disrespect for education. After time apart, they connected once more after he reached out and employed her as his manager, bringing them closer than ever.

Tragedy struck in 2007 after complications surrounding an operation Donda had undergone pushed her health to an extreme, ultimately causing death. Kanye’s melancholy came to a precipice with the release of 808’s & Heartbreak, an emotional turbulent album splintered with remnants of a broken heart.

This most recent New Years we were blessed with yet another shred of evidence showing that Kanye truly isn’t a soul-less douche in the form of ‘Only-One’ a single track featuring Paul McCartney dedicated to both his late mother, and his most recently acquired love, his little girl North.

So instead of writing Kanye off as a tool, just remember, theres always two sides to every story…
