A critical hit and audience favorite out of the Sundance Film Festival, DOPE, sees “Malcolm (Shameik Moore) carefully surviving life in a tough neighborhood in Los Angeles while juggling college applications, academic interviews, and the SAT. A chance invitation to an underground party leads him into an adventure that could allow him to go from being a geek, to being dope, to ultimately being himself.”
It stars A$AP Rocky, Zoë Kravitz, Syd tha Kid and Forest Whitaker. Pharrell Williams executive produced the film and contributed to the soundtrack, penning four new songs for Malcolm’s fictional band. This is a coming of age story for the ‘post hip-hop’ generation, and hits theatres in June.
