Yesterday we were honoured to be invited along to an exclusive photography workshop with world-renowned California based photographer Atiba Jefferson. Having shot the likes of Kanye West (even before he was YEZUS), Le Bron James, Michael Jordan, Future Islands and Nicki Minaj, which were all outside of his day-to-day job shooting the best skaters in the world including Eric Koston, Sean Malto, Curren Caples and Tony Hawk.

To coincide with his exhibition ‘Destination Sydney’ with Sydney photographers Mike O’Meally and Andrew Peters at Oakley In Residence: Sydney,  ‘Teebs’ as we like to call him, mentored a group of young upcoming photographers in the art of shooting skate and capturing the moment.

The workshop was half tutorial/ half practical, and involved an inspiring lecture from ‘Teebs’ on his background – where he came from and how he got to where he’s at, before the crew hit the streets of Surry Hills to capture moments under the mentorship of one of the world’s best photographers.

All in all it was an experience that will be remembered. If we could take away one thing it would be to always have a camera on you and don’t forget to shoot your surroundings, you never know what you may capture.
