Life Without Andy was birthed from a love for photography, but also grew up in Sydney’s nightlife scene. We spent countless nights shooting gigs, club nights, launches and box socials across our hometown – taking a few snaps in the CBD before driving down William St and into Kings Cross for more madness on any given Friday or Saturday night.

We’ve met some of our best friends over an early morning beverage on the dancefloor, and sadly enough, that’s no longer a reality for punters in Sydney. The lockout laws have had an absolutely devastating effect on our nightlife, and we can’t even count the number of venues that have shut since they were introduced. To put it plainly, it sucks – but this weekend is your chance to make your voices heard.

The ‘Keep Sydney Open‘ group have been doing fantastic work for the cause, promoting a safe and vibrant nightlife culture in Sydney. This weekend will see the most cohesive and biggest anti-lockout rally to date, kicking off at midday on Sunday February 21 at Belmore Park, just opposite Central Station. Speakers and performers include Isabella Manfredi of The Preatures, Art Vs Science and Royal Headache, and thousands are expected for the march across the CBD.

For anybody who cares about the arts, creative industries and restoring Sydney’s nightlife, we urge you to head on down. In the meantime, you can also purchase shirts from Freda’s in Chippendale or at the rally itself. Find all the crucial event details here. See you on Sunday!
