Our pal DJ Levins is at it again. Aside from playing Waka Flocka Flame medleys and an impressively large amount of Soulja Boy songs as one half of Halfway Crooks, he’s throwing Australia’s first ‘Justin Bieber Appreciation Society’ party in Sydney this month.
You might remember that Levins caused quite the stir when he dropped Justin Bieber’s ‘Sorry’ at Meredith Music Festival – with some morons taking to social media to voice their outrage, despite the fact that it’s basically universally agreed upon that ‘Sorry’ is a perfect pop song. The whole debacle grabbed national media headlines and caused chin-stroking music elitists to stroke their chins with more vigour, but it clearly hasn’t deterred Levins’ love for the Biebs.
One group who caught whiff of the news was the Justin Bieber Appreciation Society (JBAS), who are responsible for numerous Bieber-themed parties across the UK. The group’s illustrious founder has now appointed Levins to throw Australia’s first official JBAS party, and it’s coming in hot at Plan B Small Club (formerly GoodGod Small Club) in Sydney!
It’s all going down mid-way through the Easter long weekend on Saturday March 26, where you can expect all of Bieber’s biggest hits mixed with some R&B favourites. The line-up is yet to be announced, but Levins will be reeling in some of his best selectors for the soiree. Another thing: The flyer features Bieber next to two cups of syrup, a pile of money and a generous serving of marijuana. What a time to be alive.
We managed to grab an exclusive quote from DJ Levins over Facebook chat, where he said “Mark My Words, if you Love Yourself and want to to give your life Purpose, you’ll want to be Right Here at the Justin Bieber Appreciation Society next Saturday night! All That Matters is that you buy a ticket tomorrow or you’ll be Sorry once they’ve sold out! Make sure your friends get a ticket too, otherwise you’ll be calling them from inside asking ‘Where are U Now’ while they have a Bad Day outside! What an emotional Roller Coaster! Baby, I’m Confident that this party will make U Smile – I’ll Show You (and your Boyfriend) one Amazing time – all you need to do is Trust me and say ‘I Will Be There!'”
