Justin Bieber has been converting critics all across the world with his matured approach to pop music on his latest album Purpose, so much so that there’s even a whole night dedicated to the Biebs hitting Sydney this weekend.

Now it seems that the former teen pop sensation is finding more fans in the unlikeliest of places, because he’s just posted a selfie with the self-proclaimed ‘God of Fuck’, Marilyn Manson. Everybody had a period in their angst-driven teen years where they listened to Marilyn Manson, wore a wallet chain and flipped off strangers at the bus stop – and while Manson might be a shock rock icon of the 2000s, he’s saving his biggest surprises for 2016.

The recent selfie is a confusing twist in a supposed online feud between the two stars. Bieber recently performed while wearing a ‘Bigger Than Satan’ Manson tee, with the rocker then retorting with a photo of himself wearing a tee with the caption ‘Bigger Than Bieber’. This comes off previous posts from Manson where he alluded to Bieber being a massive douche.

And just when all the stern goths were waiting on Manson to sledge Bieber once more, the two have gone ahead and taken a photo together, with Bieber posting the photo alongside a caption “Night out in LA with the boys.” What the hell does a night with Manson and Bieber entail, and why weren’t we invited? While we’re still unsure if these guys are pals or if this whole saga is just one carefully constructed publicity stunt, but either way, it’s good banter from the Biebs.

We’re not sure what Bieber’s mates at Hillsong would think of his new acquaintance, but who cares? Now let’s just hope that a collaboration between these two surfaces, because let’s be honest, it would be crucial listening. Hopefully it sounds something like this Slipknot & Bieber mash-up that some legend whipped up on YouTube:
