Watch ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ Ask Punters About Fake Bands At Coachella 2016
One of the GOAT pranks.

A couple years ago, the the crew from Jimmy Kimmel Live went to Coachella and asked festival-goers about a bunch of fake bands they made up, and it made for excellent viewing.

In true hipster fashion, people pretended to know the faux acts, got caught out hard and felt the relentless wrath of the Internet. That video has hit over 17 million views, but come 2016, most fans seemed to catch onto to the falsity of the bands that they were tested on. So who says live music is dead? Who knew that Coachella was actually about the bands, and not the selfies/celebrity sightings/identical outfits?

Some of the mystic bands named were The Alternatives, DJ Zeika and our favourite, Omelette Bar. For now, the ‘Lie Witness News’ jokes are over, and it looks like people really did their homework this year at Coachella.

How good was Omelette Bar’s first EP though? Expect some more Coachella news to arrive with Weekend Two in just a few days.
