With a career spanning well over four decades, Prince’s discography pushed the boundaries of pop, fun, rock, R&B and everything in between. Whether it’s his mind-bending guitar solos, huge vocal range or fearless sense of fashion, Prince was an icon in every sense of the word. His influence can be felt everywhere – from the charts which he so frequently dominated to one of the greatest Super Bowl halftime performances in the history of the event.
His cause of death is unknown, although is has been reported that he was suffering from flu-like symptoms two weeks prior to his death. He was found to be unresponsive in an elevator in his home and studio in Minnesota.
“It is with profound sadness that I am confirming that the legendary, iconic performer, Prince Rogers Nelson, has died at his Paisley Park residence this morning at the age of 57. There are no further details as to the cause of death at this time,” a statement from his publicist read.
