The sheer volume of entries we received made it clear that this was the hottest ticket in town – after all, it’s not too often you’ll see Alison Wonderland playing in such an intimate venue nowadays, and punters took full advantage of the very rare experience. The soiree took place at an opulent Eastern Suburbs home bordering the water, with Red Bull flowing freely and tacos lining the dining table, with hard and soft shell options as well as plentiful bowls of guacamole. How fucking good is guacamole?
Hayden James and Zanerobe DJs were just some of the acts who warmed up the decks – which were floating on a pool, by the way – before Alison jumped on and ran through a series of bangers from her debut album Run including ‘U Don’t Know’ and ‘Naked’, as well as her Justin Bieber edit of ‘What Do You Mean?’ She then delved into a few club favourites including Rihanna’s contagious ‘Work’ and fittingly closed with a jam from the late, great icon Prince!
