Yes, it’s official – The Real Housewives of Sydney is happening, and they’re casting for protagonists now! Just to prove that this is serious, there’s already dedicated Facebook and Twitter pages for the program that will air on Arena in 2017. If you know any sass queens who would be perfect for a role on the show, better put their names forward now – as The Daily Telegraph has already been throwing around some potential candidates:
“Names being considered include Skye Leckie, wife of media boss David, former model Michelle Walsh, who is married to Chadwicks modelling owner Martin and Christa Billich, partner of controversial painter Charles.
Billich is an obvious choice as she’s good friends with Real Housewives of Melbourne cast member Gamble Breaux and has appeared on that version several times. She’s also become close to Gina Liano.
Gordana Willesee-Poljak, make-up and cosmetic tattooist and former wife of TV journalist Mike Willesee, attended one of the lunches and is believed to be a favourite.
Other contenders include Lisa Oldfield, wife of former One Nation politician, David, hairdresser Jo Bailey’s business partner Marilyn Koch, as well as Double Bay boutique owner and former model Amanda Cameron and publicist turned business woman Kirsten Carriol.”
Meanwhile, media queen Roxy Jacenko reportedly turned down a role on the show, saying “I enjoy watching The Real Housewives Of Melbourne but girls can get really catty and I don’t want to get involved with that.”
We’re sure that there’ll be heaps of shitfights worth watching in the first season. Stay tuned for more information as the show’s characters are revealed, and prepare for the most addictive Australian programming since the greatness that is My Kitchen Rules.
