While Beyonce had the whole world speculating about the identity of ‘Becky with the good hair’, the upcoming joint album will reportedly address the cheating rumours that surfaced after Lemonade, giving strength to the theory that the whole debacle was a genius marketing tactic for TIDAL. Page Six quotes an inside source who says that “Jay and Beyoncé were never going to do an interview to address all the questions that came up after Lemonade… It’s more their style to respond through music.”
After Beyonce’s fierce effort it will be interesting to see how Jay responds – and whether this is factual or fictitious, it should make for an interesting narrative nonetheless. Besides their obvious personal chemistry, Jay Z and Beyonce’s studio history has also produced some gems: ‘Bonnie & Clyde 03’ and ‘Crazy In Love’ rank as some of our favourite male/female crossover collaborations, while ‘Drunk In Love’ producer Detail gave more weight to the joint album discussion back in February, as reported by Rap Up.
“I’m working with a couple of new projects that I don’t want to unveil, and then me and Beyoncé and Jay Z are actually doing something together this year. When you think of Jay and Bey together, you think ‘album.’ You should already know,” he said.
Keep your ears open for a Jigga & Queen Bey collaboration soon – and we’re guessing that you’ll need that TIDAL subscription for this one:
