Ta-ku & Wafia will be performing together with two shows at Sydney Opera House as part of Vivid Sydney, and ahead of the gigs they’ve released ‘Meet In The Middle’ – the lead single from a collaborative EP titled (m)edian.

Ta-ku & Wafia have previously created studio magic together when they put their own spin on Estelle’s ‘American Boy’, and they’ve now announced an extended collaborative EP that’s dropping on June 24 via Future Classic. ‘Meet In The Middle’ is our first taste of the project: A slow-motion, hazy R&B number that showcases Ta-ku’s intricate production and Wafia’s dedication to heart-wrenching vocals which shone brilliantly in her viral cover of Mario’s ‘Let Me Love You

“This song came out of a need to write about a very personal experience that both Reggie and I shared independently of each other,” Wafia said. “All aspects of the song tell a story that runs parallel to both our lives… Compromise is sacrifice,” Ta-ku continued.

Ta-ku & Wafia will be performing together alongside a string quartet with two gigs on June 3 – expect to hear some gems from (m)edian in an opulent live setting. Meanwhile, here’s ‘Meet In The Middle’ – we’ll have this on repeat for the rest of the day.
